NEWS
5/13/08 - Hey! Kaia's album is out today! Hot damn! Did you know it comes with a free bonus digital album of raddness? You didn't? Damn! If you order it from us online we'll even send you the download code right away so you get sink your teeth into that while you wait for the real album to arrive. This is such a great record, we promise you will not be dissapointed, so hurry over to the store and snatch one of these lovelies up!

5/8/08 - JB-065 is in the house!... the garage, the basement and various postal carriers verhicals and sorting facilites near you. Someday they will even be in stores! Oh the joy! More to come...

4/7/08 - Ah well... we knew it was all too good to be true didn't we... no no, it's not that bad, it's just, you know... the record... it's delayed... yeah the Colin record, something about the guy at the plant being sick and something about the case bound gatefold sleeves we insisted upon needing to be hand assembled, yada yada... anyhow, we do not wish to shake your confidence in us, you will get your record (and yes we still have a few bottle green copies left on the books, so order it, yo!) and it will be beautiful, and it will be thick and heavy, and will sound amazing, and it will be worth every penny of postage you paid, we swear! We're planning to ship in late April and will update this page as things progress. Those of you that preordered it from us will be receiving a special little note in your email in boxes shortly as well, don't say we didn't warn you! Also, and you are the first (well, 3rd, but first public forum) to hear this, we'll be releasing M. Ward's totally amazing Transfiguration of Vincent on vinyl come July 8th. Yep.

3/15/08 - So we spoke with our pressing plant the other day about the new Colin Meloy LP, we were working out the logistics of getting the records to us, calculating different shipping options and the like and it came to my attention that we were getting a TON of records, quite literally, this shipment of records will weight 1 ton. That is just crazy man, sheeesh... anyhow, that said... Let the PREORDER begin! Go here to place your order for the new Colin Meloy Sings Live! double gatefold LP! The first 400 or so folks to place their order will recieve bottle green copies of said LP. Please don't be greedy folks, if you order more than 2 copies the extras will be black vinyl, we want to spread the fun around a bit, so please play fair. We will start shipping as soon as the LP's arrive in our hot little hands, that may be earlier than April 8th, and it may be a tad later, it's a bit out of our control at this point. Please keep in mind that media rate (the cheap price) is really slow as well. All that said we're super stoked about this record and are certain you will be as well. Thanks to all involved! More news and neat-o releases to come!

3/1/08 - As you can see in the column to the left we have several new releases to discuss with you. As we've already spent alot of time working on the descriptions on the actual album pages we'd like to humbley request that you click the covers to get more information on each one, needless to say they are all our new favorites. There are a few extra bits to note about a few of them though. The first being that JBR will be selling a limited number of copies of the Colin Meloy double LP pressed on a bottle green vinyl, so if you're interested in such things we'd suggest you purchase this one direct. We'll be starting our pre-order on March 15th. The second is that the Kaia CD will come with a coupon for a free digitial download of a whole 2nd albums worth of demos, outtakes, comp tracks, covers and potentially embarassing moments. The third is that we are super stoked to be working with our friends at Film Guerrero on the STIFFWIFF record, they will be releasing the CD and this will be our first LP release to come with a free digital download of the LP as well as our always amazing high quality vinyl. Finally, Kelly's CD is amazing, seriously beautiful, you should really have a copy of this one.

1/22/08 - We are quite pleased to annouce a release date for the forthcoming Colin Meloy Sings Live! double LP. As our pals over at Kill Rock Stars have decided that April 8th is good, we've decided to go along with them and for once in our lives release the LP on the same day as the CD! Hot damn! The LP will meet our usual level of quality control, showing up on virgin 180G vinyl, with a fancy jacket and a little extra art as well. Not only that, but Colin was nice enough to let us tack on his take of Jackson C. Frank's "Blues Run The Game", which, besides being an excellent selling point, is also frickin' awesome! We'll have a little preorder on this jobbie once we get things rolling with the pressing plant. Thanks to all, and much more to come in 2008! Yep.

12/5/07 - Greetings holiday shoppers! I always forget to mention this until someone emails me, so this time I've got the drop on you. Any order that you wish to receive before December 25th will need to be placed before December 15th. I strongly suggest that if it's a gift for someone that you spring for the extra and go for priority shipping. Anyhow, we'll have more information of a release related nature around the first of the year. Best wishes to all out there!

11/11/07 - Many new additions to the catalog page. 1st off, come Monday we will have the Carbon Glacier LP's in our eager little paws. The 1st 300 people to order get their copy on clear vinyl. We also got the shipment of lathe cut records from New Zealand a few weeks back and have finished up the packaging for the new Beltline 7" and the inaugural voyage of The Valiant Arms 10", Swallow the Sea. All of these records and more can be yours if only you head here now. More to come in the new year, so stay tuned!

9/14/07 - We've updated the bands page to reflect our current roster. There are links to all sorts of fun pages there, so peep it for yourself. We've updated the poster page as well with some fun new designs. We've still got a few copies of the silkscreened M. Ward LP's left, we encourage you to help us run out of them quickly. Also, you will notice we now have a contact page, rather than a links page, oh... you didn't notice? Well, now you will! The Laura Veirs record is still in the works, should be off to the presses here in a week or so. It will containt the bonus track Cliff Driver, so watch out! Tractor Operator will be having a record release show on the 29th here in PDX, it should be hella bitchin', check the TO website for more show and tour info. The Valiant Arms have 8 songs recorded and will be working up a few more, then recording them, and then there should be a record of original tunes available sometime in the spring of '08.

8/20/07 - Duet For Guitars #2 is here! You can purchase it now from our online emporium. Please recall that the 1st 200 of you to purchase the LP get the limited edition silkscreened version of the cover. In other news we have just confirmed that we will be releasing Laura Veirs 2004 album Carbon Glacier on 180 gram vinyl in November. We're hoping to include a nice bonus track from those sessions as well. We've got an exciting spring '08 in store as well. We've got a 2xLP live solo album from The Decemberists own Colin Meloy and the latest in a long line of amazing albums from Kaia, God Makes Monkeys. When she's not rocking the "F" out with Team Dresh she's making beautiful heartfelt glorious records of her own. We've done little bits and pieces with her over the years, there was an A*dick*did track on one of the first JBR comp tapes, and then a rad cover of an old Snakepit song the Aircheck Cassette, but really we've been wanting to put out an actual record of her's since around 1995, so this is proof that the whole patience/virtue, good things/those who wait ideas actually work sometimes. We're working on art ideas and packaging and stuff right now. The record will show up some time in spring of '08, touring will follow. Lastly but not leastly the new Tractor Operator record, Bleeding Hearts and Severed Legs, comes out on September 4th. BUT, you can get it from us starting now! So head over to the catalog page and pick-up your copy! Eric has been doing some sort of crazed pottery camp back east for the summer, but he's going out with a band this fall, a west coast jaunt, so you can check him then. The new record is really cool, it's got more instruments, the arrangements are all over the place and the lyrics tell some twisted bizarre and heartfelt tales. Thanks for listening, as always, more on the horizon so stay in touch.
