"Much like how perhaps the earth reclaims its ruins, the music of The Circular Ruins does much of the same––creating a sound that weaves like snakes in the cracks, and snakes like vines through archways, as if climbing around the albums’ namesake made real. Like a curious exploration, the songs come together––moving through open doors to travel down the dark hallways of abandoned temples, and back into the sunlight falling across great steps of stone. The songs and the record feel like an echo of the Borges story––a pathway into a dream that reveals itself to be the path inside someone else’s fever dream––layering its movements upon the sounds that proceed it, to ultimately arrive back at its beginnings; not so much sonically, but in how anything created becomes but a layer for what gets made as a result of the making."
